Summary
Samansco embarked on a project in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate Change of Zimbabwe. For this project, the team was contracted to do a feasibility study, design as well as install solar powered systems for Nyatsato primary school in Rushinga Zimbabwe.
The project initiative called “Strengthening National Capacity of Climate Change in Zimbabwe,” was aimed at enhancing awareness on issues of climate change, increasing compliance with global agreements and piloting climate change projects. In addition to supplying and installing solar powered systems; Samansco provided comprehensive research, analysis and training for various stakeholders that were targeted as a result of this project.

Impact
At Samansco we believe in spreading the vast knowledge we have accumulated over the years. Being in the solar industry for over 35 years, we are a pool of knowledge for the next generation that will eventually take the reigns to run the nation. For this reason, working with schools is one of the organisation’s top priorities and goals. The school became one of the main beneficiaries of this project, not only from having newly installed solar system, but from the talks and seminars that were held at the school, which were open to the entire student body.
